Early precursor to the famous Mary Frances Sewing Book. This edition was self published when the author could not contract with a publisher. Contents include instructions for children on sewing doll clothing. Charming story of fairies and dolls along with instructions on sewing. Yellow cloth over board cover with onlay illustration. Cover has general soiling and shelf scuffing; chipping and rubbing to onlay. Light rubbing with fraying to head and tail of spine. When book is closed page edges have general soiling; brown stain on bottom edges. Binding is cracked about half way through, pages are holding tight, although book feels lightly shaken. Pages are age toned but clean. All 10 insert pattern pages are present, however only insert pattern #5 has original tissue paper pattern. Other insert pages have patterns printed on heavy paper page stock. 9 1/2" x 7".
