Printing date: January, 1905, thus the 6th printing. Tan cloth cover with gilt lettering and embossed cover decoration. Gilt page tops. Previous owner has pasted onto front paste down an envelope which contains 5 newspaper clippings dating to 1915 regarding events in Japan and the emperor. Previous owner's signature with date 1906 on front fly leaf. Back paste down has newspaper article on Lufcadio Hearn pasted in. Both front and back fly leaves have age tanning from the paste ins. A few interior pages have tanning from paper that was laid in between. Cover is clean with minimal corner bumping and light scuffing only to spine tail and head. Binding is lightly loose. 549 pages plus 2 pages of advertisements. 8 x 5 1/2"
